Sax-y!!!
Our playlist for this Friday has lots of saxophone. Some R & B shouters, some exotica from the '50's and '60's and some tunes that were played in "gentleman's clubs" during the same period.
There is some trashy weirdness contained in this one. Enjoy!

I can't find out anything about this band. Great tune, though.

24. Strollin' After Dark - The Shades
I can't find any definitive information about this band, but what I can find leads me to think this might be the band Lou Reed was in (a long time) before his stint in the Velvet Underground. Not for sure, but just something to know.
25. All Night Long - Robert Parker
Born October 14th, 1930 in New Orleans, Louisiana, Parker played with many of the greats of the New Orleans scene, including Professor Longhair, Fats Domino, Irma Thomas and Ernie K-Doe. He began recording in 1949 and stayed in the business until 1984.

His biggest hit, "Bacon Fat" reached #9 on the Billboard R & B charts in 1957. Williams also wrote songs for Stevie Wonder, Parliament/Funkadelic, as well as Ike and Tina Turner. In the 1980's, Williams was destitute due to drug addiction and, at one time, was homeless and begging for money on a bridge in Chicago. After beating his addiction, Williams began recording again, including his 1998 release Silky, which some have called the "world's sleaziest album ever". A pioneer in R & B, funk, blues and punk music, Williams continues to record and play live.
